Filming
We scheduled for days in order to film the opening of our film, however we came across complications because the weather wasn't what we wanted for the days that we picked so we had to keep re-scheduling and hope for the best. We ended up finding a few good days that we used to film in and got as much done as we could in different places in order for the journey part of our opening to be longer and better in order for the speech overlay to be used because there is going to be quite a lot of it. We also found the perfect place to film the bit after the journey which a cute and right for what we was aiming for with the two little 60's girls in our opening of our film. We still need to go back to the place in which we filmed the journey in order to get some close up shots which are needed for the opening to be more successful and so that we are marked better at the end.
Overlay audio
I am in the process of writing up the overlay speech that goes over a large part of the opening of our film that will look like the main character is thinking in her head. She is going to be speaking about her family and home life and the fact she doesn't have any friends but one, then goes into a certain depth about her. Through the speech I am going to put in creepy lines that relate to her situation to hint to the audience about the twist at the end of the film if we was to make the whole thing. We have been researching over the internet for lines that will be perfect for this. We ended up choosing lines from 'Alice And Wonderland' and it related back to our film opening as that is also a fantasy film with a hint of creepiness within it.
What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
A production company such as Film 4 would possibly distribute our media product as it is a low budget film company so it doesn't broadcast huge blockbusters on their screen, which is good for our media product because it won't look out of place against the other films that would be shown along side it. A film distributor such as Film 4 would be more inclined to distribute our media product than any other film company because others are large companies that are very picky about the types of films that are distributed through them, whereas Film 4 distribute low budget films happily. If Film 4 was to show our media product on air, they would introduce our production with our film logo and name to their viewers before the film, of which we have created.
We have a logo and name for our production and looks professional for the film company Film 4 and it won't put them off distributing our media product when we have thought about the ins and outs of the distribution of our film opening.
We would have to tell a distributor from the Film 4 company about our story outline and show them a clip from it so that they can see whether they want distribute it through their company. This is usually a group of people that we would have to introduce our film to, in order for it to be agreed upon in order for it to distributed.
Our film idea and genre is similar to films such as 'The Lovely Bones' as it is a fantasy thriller where the main character is dead and shows that have previously been on TV such as 'Marshlands' which is a thriller also.

Film setting
For our film opening the characters of Rosie and Alice will meet at a field where they will be having a picnic. We have took inspiration from the film The Time Traveller's Wife of where they meet at a picnic spot in a field. I have attached below the image that shows this.

Song choice
We've so far all agreed on the song sang by The Beatles 'Black Bird' as our film is going to be set in the 1960's, The Beatles were big in the 60's so we think it fits in well. Plus we looked at the lyrics and it kind of fits in with our story line too.
we plan to have the first 38 seconds of this song and then when the opening scene atmosphere changes a little, the song stops and we will add in another as that's when the scene goes creepy.

quick idea
I have come up with an idea of how to introduce a character into the film opening that we are creating. For the girls friend that is one of the main characters, I thought it would be a good idea for her to be seen for the first time at the picnic that the main girl is heading for whilst traveling on her bike in the first 38 seconds of the film opening. As the main characters shakes out the picnic blanket to lay it out and drop it, the girl will just appear as the blanket is laid down in slow motion. This will make her appear as a ghostly figure as she just appears unexpectedly and this is the aim that we are going for.
